Chunky Argyle Scarf
This pattern uses simple repetitive knit/purl motif to create a diamond shape.
It uses one full skein of chunky yarn and is relatively quick to make!

Gauge
12 st x 16 rows in stockinette stitch = 4″ (10 cm) square
Materials
- 1 skein bulky weight yarn (100m/100g)
- US size 13 (9.00mm) knitting needles – flat or circular
- 1 tapestry needle to weave in ends
Stitches Used
co – cast on
k – knit
p – purl
bo – bind off
Notes
This scarf will look super short before blocking. I suggest hand washing with a wool wash and wet blocking to stretch to its finished size
Pattern
CO 19 stitches
Rows 1-3: knit all stitches
Begin Diamond Motif (See Chart below):
Row 1 (RS): k3, (p1, k5) twice, p1, k3
Row 2 (WS): k3 (p1, k1, p3, k1) × 2, p1, k3
Row 3: k5, p1, k1, p1, k3, p1, k1, p1, k5
Row 4: k3, p3, k1, p5, k1, p3, k3
Row 5: Repeat row 3.
Row 6: Repeat row 2.
Repeat rows 1-6 twenty-three (23) more times.
Bottom border:
Rows 1-2: knit all st
BO knitwise. Weave in all ends and block
